SeaSucker Roof Rack Review - 2016 GMC Sierra 2500

Speaker 1: Today on 2016 GMC Sierra 2500, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Seasucker Monkey Bar Roof Rack System, part number 298-SX6000.Now we have the front bar installed, let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now what sets this roof rack apart from a lot of other roof racks out there on the market is that rather than having the traditional clamp style where it comes under your door frame right here and clamps on, it suction cups to the top of your roof to provide still a snug fit. This is convenient for installation and removal, makes the process a lot quicker, and assembly of the roof rack is a lot quicker than those traditional clamp style roof racks. We do have round bars on this roof rack system, so you are gonna have some wind noise and drag. But if you wanna get rid of that you can purchase the fairing separately at etrailer.com to place it in front to kind of divert that wind and cut down on that drag and noise. And it uses a plunger system to suction cup to the roof of our truck. Each cup is gonna have 210 pounds of pull pressure, so it's gonna be very sturdy on our truck and not move. How we got the front bar in place, we measured from the top of our windshield to the top edge, or the front edge I should say, of our front suction cup. That way we had it even and square on both sides. What's also cool about this roof rack system is that you don't have a set spot of where it needs to be like those old traditional clamp style roof racks. You can place it wherever's convenient for you, as long as you place the suction cups in a spot where the roof doesn't have any of these ridges right here that pop up. more

Malone Roof Rack Review - 2016 GMC Terrain

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 GMC Terrain, we're going to be taking a look at the Malone SteelTop Roof Rack system, and that's going to be part number MPG202.As you can see, we have the front bar installed, so let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. Our square bars that we have on top are going to be 58" long. They also come in other lengths. You could check our website for those different lengths. They do have a square bar, so you are going to have some type of wind noise and drag while you're traveling. However, you can purchase a fairing that will act as a wind deflector and kind of sweep it right over the bar to make it more aerodynamic, and cut down on that wind noise and drag. The square bars have a nice rigid system up top that's going to help keep your accessories in place and not be able to slide at all on your roof rack. more

Yakima Roof Rack Review - 2015 GMC Acadia

Speaker 1: Today in our 2015 GMS Acadia, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima JetStream roof rack system, consisting of part numbers Y00425. These are the JetStream crossbars, 50 inches long. These also come in silver if you like. We'll also be using part number Y00147 and these are the TimberLine towers, specifically designed to go around your factory raised side rails. This is a great roof rack system because you can carry a wide variety of accessories on your roof while freeing up space inside your Acadia. This can carry anything from bike racks to cargo baskets to cargo boxes with ease. And also, if we remove our end cap here, you can also utilize T-track accessories with this as well. And what sets this apart from the other roof rack systems out there, normally you would have to remove the center strip, cut it to length, put the accessory in place, then put the strip back around it. With this, you simply push down the strip in the center here and slide your T-track accessory in, not having to cut anything. These do have nice aerodynamic shape to them and that, coupled with that strip at the top, as well as the strip that you cut to length underneath, will cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive virtually eliminating the need for any aftermarket fairings like you would have to get with square or round bars. How it wraps around here it goes around nice and tight around your existing factory raised side rail and tightens down. more
